What do you do when…?

I keep running into the topic of ‘what do you do when this happens?’  Meaning, what is the correct action, feeling, outlook on any given situation and happening.  We all want to know what is the ‘right’ thing to do.  We all want to know what exactly is sin, and what isn’t sin.  This question arises because so much of the Bible ‘contradicts’ itself.

Let’s settle one thing.  The Bible NEVER contradicts itself.  The Bible IS the Word of God.  And God can NEVER contradict Himself.  He said, ‘A house divided cannot stand’ (paraphrased).  So, therefore the Bible can never contradict itself.  But, so many of the scripture say the opposite of each other.  The best example in my opinion: Proverbs 26:4, 5.  Back to back scriptures that completely contradict each other.  They say:

4 ‘Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools,
or you will become as foolish as they are.

5 Be sure to answer the foolish arguments of fools,
or they will become wise in their own estimation.’

So, how do you know what to do.  You must find out what God says is the correct action for that situation.  His presence is EVERYTHING.

We can all discuss the proper action of events over and over, but the truth is that one individual may not know the correct action of another, because the Lord will tell you.

What is the Lord telling you today?  It may not be an action, but He is speaking that I am sure.  What is He telling you?  If you don’t have an answer to that question, stop for just a moment and see what it is the Lord is speaking.
